Answering your questions about Apprenticeship.

General FAQs

Q:
What makes your services any different than the multitude of other online management platforms for managing apprentices?
A:

The major difference is that we are not an online management platform. What separates us from all others is that we actually run, manage, and operate your apprenticeship program for you. Apprenticeship Management Solutions takes pride in the fact that we are here to help remove the burdens companies and organizations experience when operating and managing an apprenticeship program. We manage programs so companies and organizations can focus on what they do best, and that is to attend to their business.

Workforce Board FAQs

Q:
As a workforce board, there are apprenticeship related metrics for us to meet associated with federal and state expectations. How would our board and local one-stops benefit from a relationship with your organization?
A:

Workforce boards are positioned strategically within a community as a central hub for connecting jobseekers, employers, education partners, and economic development entities in order to provide services for stakeholders. The apprenticeship training model is a tool used primarily by employers to train and attract a skilled workforce. Unlike many workforce boards, education entities, and community organizations, PCG’s Apprenticeship Management Solutions team has the expertise on how to use and pull in the services of stakeholders at various times and degrees to customize training solutions using the apprenticeship system. This flexibility allows us to assist your workforce board in meeting those metrics. Apprenticeship is not a cookie-cutter solution for all employer training needs. It is designed to be flexible to meet their needs. And if your workforce board has the ability to provide flexible services, then it makes it much easier to serve your community. That is how your workforce board can benefit from partnering with PCG’s Apprenticeship Management Solution.

Employer FAQs

Q:
Our company leadership is a firm believer in using the apprenticeship process for training our own employees, but we have found that the extra time that has to be dedicated to running, operating, and managing all the required paperwork and compliance activities, we just do not have the personnel or the time to implement. How can Apprenticeship Management Solutions help us?
A:

There are technically two avenues for employers to use the Apprenticeship model. First is sponsorship, and the second is participation in an existing Apprenticeship Program. If your company is interested in Sponsorship, then Apprenticeship Management Solutions can be contracted to design, develop, run, manage, and operate your Apprenticeship Program for you. If your company is not interested in Sponsorship, then your company would be eligible to join the Public Consulting Group National Apprenticeship Program. We would design and develop all the required documentation to incorporate the necessary apprenticeable occupation to allow your company to participate.

Sponsor FAQs

Q:
We are a Sponsor of multiple occupations with multiple employers. We received a grant a few years back and now the grant has expired, and we had to let go of some staff members who occupied grant funded positions. We want to continue acting as the sponsor, but we are struggling with whether we have to deregister or not. How do your services help us?
A:

This is one of the primary reasons why we developed this service offering. Over the past 3 to 6 years, many apprenticeship programs were established using finite grant dollars. Unfortunately, many programs have been scuttled due to this lack of funding foresight. Apprenticeship Management Solutions is the answer. Our annual contract rates are dramatically lower than the cost of full or part-time individuals. Our Apprenticeship Management team can run and manage your program for you, so you and your leadership can focus on building and expanding instead of managing and operating.

Training & Education FAQs

Q:
Our institution has been approached from multiple entities such as workforce boards, intermediaries, Sponsors, USDOL, and State apprenticeship agencies to partner or sponsor an Apprenticeship Program. We are not in the Apprenticeship arena and need help on how we can navigate through all the “Apprenticeship” noise. How can Apprenticeship Management Solutions assist?
A:

Many educational institutions and training organizations have primarily shied away from the Apprenticeship systems for several reasons, one being the perception that apprenticeship is for the trades and not for certificate or degree seeking individuals. Fast forward to the last 5 to 10 years and there has been a push both at the national level as well as the state level to integrate higher education institutions within the apprenticeship system. Unfortunately, many institutions are woefully unprepared for this challenge. Apprenticeship Management Solutions can help any educational or training organization navigate through these challenges. Whether the intent is to Sponsor, be strictly an apprentice education provider, or provide a venue for multiple Sponsors to use the institution and host their training needs. In any scenario, Apprenticeship Management Solutions would be dedicated to help your institution provide vital services to your community.
